Judge: All rise.

Prosecutor: Cupcakes are poisoning our sweets — eh, streets.

Defendant: Objection! Leading the jury.

Judge: Sustained.

Defendant: May it please the court to bring Gale Gand, Tru dessert master and consulting pastry chef of More, to the stand? Miss Gand, tell us a little about the new establishment.

Gand: The Gold Coast bakery breaks new ground on Friday with an assortment of deliciously clever twists on the humble cupcake. (Addresses the jury) Can you imagine flavors like passion fruit poppyseed, pink grapefruit, or crème brulee?

Jury: (aghast) No!

Gand: What about cupcake options like fig, port, and bleu cheese; BLT; even caramelized onion?

Jury: Never!

Gand: I rest my case.

Judge: The court orders one in every flavor.
