Old Oak Tap Opens

You’re lazy as hell and you’re not going to take it anymore.

All this bar-hopping and after-dinner-drinks planning takes way too much energy.

Old Oak Tap, a new West Town joint, offers respite from your nightspot-hopping routine. Between the 1,500-square-foot patio and dual-level interior, a scenery change is just a few steps away.

Downstairs feels earthy and laid-back: moss and chocolate palette, fireplace, stone detailing, and reclaimed barn wood communal tables. Head upstairs for a loungier vibe.

John Manion (Mas) has whipped up a menu of shareable items like house-made soft pretzels (horseradish-cheddar fondue, Guinness mustard sauce) and yellowfin tacos. Sandwiches include grilled cheese and a crabmeat club. Also find salads, an extensive imported beer and wine list, and awesomely affordable prices.

Now that’s worth leaving home for.
