Brittany Pham and Devin Carlson aren’t slaves to fashion. So it’s no surprise they were inspired by The Fountainhead’s cold, stunningly individualist heroine, Dominique Francon, for the fall collection of their line, Fremont. The tough, elegant pieces have updated classic silhouettes with a hint of masculinity. Using heavy wool (for coats), twills, jersey, silk, and cashmere blends and embellishing with recycled polyester buttons, horn, and corozo trim, the duo created easy-to-wear tops, bottoms, and dresses. Pair the ruched Anna jacket (lined with black and white plaid) with the off-the-shoulder silk Louisa dress (pink, gray, and white print). Throw on jeans with the black silk chiffon secretary blouse with a deep scoop neckline and tie front. The pocketed, backless black silk Jane dress makes a statement on its own.
