Chicago natives Agnes B. Miles and Jessica McCloud make handmade bling- and feather-adorned headbands and hats. The designers combine an affection for strong ladies of the ’40s (Greta Garbo, Clara Bow, Grandmas Gigi and Mary) with a soft spot for animals (their feathers come from safe sources), resulting in head-turning pieces.

Miles and McCloud rescue bands and hats from vintage boutiques and estate sales and then hand-dye feathers and add extras like antique brooches.

The couture collection is chockful of statement bands: yellow feathers with black and magenta applique flowers, red feathers layered with vintage fabric, peacock feathers with vintage pins.

We smell a trend.
