Reasons to smack Rachael Ray:
1) Grating voice.
2) Excessive hand motions.
3) Abbrevs. (Ahem. Abbreviations.)
Don’t get violent with the poor woman. Instead, score sammies on the cheap (without the aggression) at Wally & Agador’s, opening today in Boystown.
Exec chef Michael Lachowicz (of Restaurant Michael in Winnetka) named the venture after his pups. The concept: fresh deli grub (duck confit, house-curried salmon), rotating takeaway salads from Restaurant Michael’s (curried chicken salad, truffle-scented tuna), sweets (Tahitian vanilla panna cotta, Grand Marnier Valrhona chocolate truffles), and the star: sandwiches.
Prepared with classic French technique, creations include The Elton John (chicken sausage, dried huckleberries, truffle sauce), The Wally (peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, bananas), The Esther Williams (lobster and scallop sausage, tarragon mayo), and more.
You’ll scarf your meal.
In less than 30 minutes.
Wally & Agador’s, 3310 North Halsted Street, between Buckingham Place and School Street (773-325-9664 or wallyandagadorscafe.com).
