Wheel and Meal

Fork and the Road Culinary Bike Tours

Save your stash of quarters and tell Daley to privatize this.

Then smugly bike your way through Chicago’s tastiest hoods with Fork and the Road.

After planning gelato and taco tastings around town for friends, fellow foodies and cyclists Sharon Bautista’s and Dimitra Tasiouras’s wheels started turning. Starting June 21, they’ll take their show on the road: five themed culinary bike tours around the city.

Gear up for Mexican food at Maxwell Street (Unsung Chicago Classics Tour), Japanese at Andersonville’s Sunshine Cafe (Tour of Asia), and a farmers market frenzy for Local Vegetarian Chicago. The kick-off tour gets a handle on barbecue from Pakistan to Arkansas.

On a typical four-stop, fifteen-mile route, bikers revel in food discussions and chef chats. Tours feed fifteen hungry cyclists.

Now that’s off the chain.
