Annie Frei sticks to her guns.
When it comes to fashion, the ecofriendly design wunderkind will stop at nothing.
Take Workshop, her aptly named studio-cum-storefront, opening today. The sunny Pilsen space houses spring overstock and Frei’s new fall line. Standouts include a hemp and tinsel breakaway blazer with corozo nut buttons, metallic-threaded silk chiffon tunic, and printed bloomer pantaloons.
A vintage fabric capsule collection will include ever-changing pieces. In addition, Frei will offer sewing and knitting classes come fall.
Also available: merch from her designy friends — Tania Bowers jewelry (layered vintage lace, cloth, and charms) and Gina Pannorfi hand-dyed silk scarves. Her pal, Hudson Harrington Berry, peppered the space with restored Danish modern furniture like an Eames rocking chair (that’s for sale, too!).
She does custom wedding dresses, but bridezillas are not welcome.
Go ahead. Make her Frei.
