Cure what ails you with a visit to Swaby, a just-opened Bucktown boutique. Owner/designer Shernett Swaby is a real-life wonder woman. Not only did she move from Toronto to Chicago and open a shop in three short months, she sews every piece by hand in her backroom studio.

Currently available are top sellers from past collections: blouses, skirts, pants, blazers, cocktail dresses, and gowns. Her fall line, all grays and purples, includes silk-blend, pleated pieces meant for layering. Wet your whistle with a single rack; come back in a few weeks for the complete collection.

Swaby also sells stellar leather bags with snaps, fringe, and studs.
