Think you can’t kick your off-the-rack habit? Take some inspiration from The Uniform Project. In May 2009, Brooklyn-based Sheena Matheiken raised funds for the Akanksha Fund by pledging to wear the same dress for an entire year, reinventing it daily with sustainable accessories (vintage, borrowed, and purchased on eBay).

Baby steps, reader. Start with eBay’s vintage look designer, where you can use an assortment of vintage finds to create your own look and share it with friends. For every outfit designed, eBay will donate $1 to The Uniform Project, and you’ll be entered to win a cool $5,000.
