This year you’ve done a lot of kissing.

Most recently, you smooched your annual holiday vacation goodbye.

No need for a smackdown. You can still travel — right here at home. Cuna, Lakeview’s newest bar-meets-cultural-fusion restaurant, is now open.

The son of a traveling businessman, owner Paolo Acuna has lived everywhere from Nigeria to Germany. Executive chef Kendal Duque’s (Sepia) diverse catalog of recipes reflects Acuna’s travels. Visit Italy via pork cheeks and creamy polenta. Meander around the Mediterranean with flatbread topped with braised lamb shoulder, green olives, and caramelized onions. Go loco for Central America’s chorizo-flecked calamari and arugula salad. Stay local with butternut squash risotto.

Cocktails are made using freshly squeezed infusions and house-made syrups. Wine varietals hail from Argentina to Australia.

You’ll love it.

A bushel and a peck.

Cuna, 1113 West Belmont Avenue, between Clifton and Seminary Avenues (312-224-8588 or cunachicago.com).

Hurl the holiday spirit with Someecards.com’s clever collection for DailyCandy. The saucy e-cards are the perfect way to let someone know you’re thinking of them, virtually.
