Glass Kicker

labrabbit!

There’s no better guy to describe a pair of Labrabbit Optics glasses than the one behind the frames, Coyote DeGroot:

“It’s like wrapping an Aztec temple around your face.”

Precisely. DeGroot runs the biz out of a sunny Wicker Park studio. While we oohed and ahhed over 400 vintage, refurbished, and new frames, he gave us the lowdown.

He’s a certified optician who can cut, fade, and mirror-coat lenses. Opticians are a stodgy bunch, but DeGroot is bringing boldness and eccentricity back to faces with a gigantic collection of vintage Dior and Ralph Lauren, aviators, navigators, cat eyes, pince-nez, and Pathways in every color of the rainbow.

Labrabbit exclusively carries Colab, an Australian brand that partners with street artists. DeGroot will soon launch his own line of leather frames.

Make an appointment, four eyes.

And see for yourself.
