The Georges you’ve lusted after include Curious (those ears!) and Clooney. Neither relationship has been fulfilling.
Try Georges on for size.
Slated to open today in the old London Wine Bar space, the slick, sustainable seafood joint is outfitted with stainless steel, industrial grays, reclaimed wood tables, and a green apple-hued bar.
Dig into fresh fare from the raw bar (octopus carpaccio, wild sturgeon ceviche) before moving on to chef Amanda Hamilton’s deep-fried sardines or branzino with Israeli couscous.
Quince alum Rene Dominguez mixes highly seasonal, kitchen-inspired cocktails; there are also 70 wines by the bottle. Georges has plans to launch a sherry club between lunch and dinner — the perfect excuse to play hooky (or drink midworkday).
You’ve met your match.
Georges, 415 Sansome Street, between Sacramento and Clay Streets (415-956-6900 or georgessf.com).
