As the weather gets warmer, the happy hour crowd gets rowdier.
But you and your glass of rioja can breathe in peace at Lincoln Park’s cozy new wine bar, Vintage 338. Owned by father-son duo Tom and Chris Barkulis, the 38-seat space has everything you need for some postwork relaxation (charming atmosphere, elbow room, 5 p.m. opening time).
Wines include twenty edited reds and whites from France, Spain, and Italy, by the glass ($8-$14) or the well-priced bottle ($24-$39). Beer is also available (Birra Moretti, Fischer Amber).
Chef Blaze Correia (Rockit) serves hearty panini, salads, and small plates like Tuscan white bean dip with rosemary-infused oil, baked tetilla cheese with quince paste, and imported charcuterie from Southern Europe. Top things off with a sparkling prosecco, cava, or champagne.
Vintage 338, 338 West Armitage Avenue, at Orleans Street (773-525-0521 or vintage338.com).
