You trust an airplane pilot with your life. Why not trust her with your wardrobe?
Halli Mulei, United Airlines pilot and proud owner of new boutique Local Lookbook, is bound to create a little turbulence with her Lincoln Park storefront.
Mulei sells local designer wares (Marisa Swystun, JLee Silver), including two newbies that caught our attention: Caroline Borucki, whose frocks and shirts with precious bow detailing are store exclusives, and Nora del Busto, who takes cues from our city’s architecture to create sculptural silk dress masterpieces. (We love del Busto’s Basia dress with the slot seam and the black shift with just-subtle-enough sequins lining the bottom.)
Did we mention the dedicated student designer section? It’ll send you up, up, and away.
Local Lookbook, 1211 West Webster Avenue, at Racine Avenue (773-525-7421).

It is so good to see someone supporting local fashions. I wish we even had local fashions in Springfield. I would love to get some for my blog! Great job! www.afashionaffair.onsugar.com

I love Cerato, just bought a J Lee Silver dress last weekend. Saturday shopping on Southport is my weakness but supporting Chicago designers is A+

I've been taking friends to Cerato and it's fabulous. Is this just a repeat? What am I missing?

Atmosphere at Cerato a bit more friendly. Fashion at Lookbook more for working woman, not much contemporary stuff.
