The only collection you have is a fat stack of parking tickets — collecting dust.
Collect yourself. Then head to West Town and check out Axis of Evelyn. Avid vintage collector/former stylist Evelyn Daitchman has fifteen years’ worth of wares — from auction houses to estate sales — in a Fulton Market warehouse. Now a heady selection lives at Post 27.
Daitchman touts everything from a Lyric Opera vest ($295) and leather Valentino suit to a cream knit sweater ($30) and sweet, floral-embossed silk blouses. Items span decades (’60s red and white Japanese pumps, fur hats and leather bags from the ’70s, a modern Alexander Wang dress). Stock is constantly replenished.
Shop on a Saturday when Daitchman is in-store, and you may never leave. (She’s a genius at picking the right shape for your size.) It’s a more appealing way to get the boot.
Available at Post 27, 1819 West Grand Avenue, at Wood Street (312-829-6122 or post27store.com).
