Enough with the jokes about mom jeans. We all know there’s something to comfy, broken-in denim.
And there’s nothing cuter than a kid in faded blues, which is why we’re crazy about local designer Lindsey Berns’s first children’s clothing collection. Berns, who previously created a handbag and women’s clothing line, enters the munchkin market with vintage-denim-inspired styles for girls ages 12 months to 4 years.
The adorable dresses and separates fill a sweet spot between trendy and retro, recalling the favorite clothing you wore in old family photos, but with modern tailoring and embellishments. Denim jumpers with mismatched buttons and appliqued hearts are perfect for picnics; chambray pinafore dresses with frayed straps and hems befit both fancy parties and monkey bars.
And when we tell you that everything, especially linen peasant blouses and elastic-waist pantaloons are easy on, easy off, you should know it’s no joke.
