Mom driving you crazy is nothing new.
Mama’s Nuts, however, is. Alison Lo’s peanut and cashew brittle, famous among her family and friends for almost 40 years, is making its public debut, thanks to her daughter, Adrienne. After badgering her mom to start a brittle business, she finally took matters into her own hands.
Half of the X-marx underground dining team, Adrienne is no novice in the kitchen. Using Alison’s secret recipe, she bakes small-batch quantities of the retro-fitted candy.
She toasts the nuts before baking, so the brittle has a subtle roasted flavor; baking soda adds air bubbles, so you won’t lose any crowns in the munching process. A sprinkle of fleur de sel lends an addictive sweet/saltiness.
You’ll go bonkers for it.
