Despite Dov Charney’s best (or worst) efforts, American Apparel remains a wardrobe staple (no judgments).
Break up the bodysuit-and-sheer-pants party with Beija. The better-than-basic line by British designer Michelle Lindup is making its stateside debut right here.
With a penchant for vintage fabrics and a knack for sewing since she was a teen, Lindup’s known for adding artisan touches like hand-stitching and tiny embellishments (darts, lace patterns) to every ethereal, intriguing piece.
A few standouts: the ruffle-yoke silk dress, with pockets, tiny front buttons, and cinched waist; a silk tank dress with dainty lace details; a long guipure dress that screams summer dinner party. The creamy palette and body-skimming fabrics are beachy but refined — and as easy to toss on as a crop top and metallic leggings.
What’s not to Dov?
