Summer footwear is usually a heel-to-toe snooze (flimsy flip-flops, blah ballet flats).
But the sole-searching is over with the launch of new L.A. label Cobra Society.
Designer Alex Davis drew inspiration from her time abroad in Tangier during college for her collection of chic leather boots that blends durable design with Moroccan flair.
It takes a village (literally) to weave the colorful geometric Kilim fabrics that are cut to fit the shaft of each shoe (Davis employs an army of rug artisans in a town in the Middle Atlas Mountains). The boots are made in Spain using the time-intensive Goodyear Welt method (an English technique that allows for more ventilation) and come in four heights, from ankle to over the knee.
Wear them now with sundresses and maxiskirts and with chunky knits and your favorite skinny jeans this fall.
They’re really worth talking a-boot.
