Three people we’d like to have dinner with: Tupac, Gandhi, and Johnny Depp.
And we’ll score two out of three at The People’s Last Stand.
The new neighborhood bistro and bar tucked near the Angelika on the second floor of Mockingbird Station serves a short list of simple dishes named after historical icons — including the Indian spiritual figure and late rapper.
Camp out under oil paintings by a local artist for build-your-own cheese boards with festive options like dill Havarti, maple cheddar, and lemon Stilton. Or pull up one of ten wood stools to the sleek stainless steel bar for wine, craft brews, and specialty cocktails with house-made bitters, sodas, infusions, and liqueurs.
We sucked down a Thyme Bomb, a blend of vodka, St-Germain, and watermelon thyme syrup.
It’s to live and die for.
