Company Cafe has a corner on the gluten-free market in Dallas.
But new Tu-Lu’s Bakery has a cupcake. And a cookie. And a brownie.
SMU alum Tully Phillips just opened her petite pink gluten-free bakeshop, making everything fresh daily with wheat alternatives such as rice or almond flour. Some of her goods are vegan and dairy free, too.
The ever-changing menu ranges from classic sweets — snickerdoodles, red velvet cupcakes, cinnamon sugar donuts — to savory bites like white cheddar jalapeno corn muffins and bags of croutons. For lunch, try a panino on sunflower bread (we like the turkey with Havarti and herb mayo).
Planning an event? Cakes for weddings, birthdays, and more, as well as bulk purchases, are available by special order.
And that’s the word on the wheat.
