We’ve told you where to get coiffed. Now you can primp head to toe on the cheap.
Polished
Slapdash jobs are a given at most walk-in spots. The ladies at Cosmos Nail Salon (1204 Walnut Street, 215-627-1020; 1308 Sansom Street, 215-545-5456) don’t rush their manicures ($12) or pedicures ($33). Complimentary shoulder and neck massages make drying time fly.
In the Clear
Mini facials at Juju Spa & Organics (713 South Fourth Street; 215-238-6080) provide a thorough steam and cleanse. For $55, you can justify frequent visits and have cash left over for a product or two.
Glow for It
Affordable Skin Care Salon’s (2005 Frankford Avenue; 215-203-0995) name says it all. Mary Freihofner’s facials get acne under control ($29 and up), and with waxing starting at $5, you can say good-bye to razor burn.
Not an Arm and a Leg
Bodywork at your favorite cushy spa costs one fifth of your rent. Book an appointment at the no-frills Massage Arts Center of Philadelphia (519 South Fourth Street; 267-321-0200), where Swedish rubdowns run $55 to $65.
Budget Cuts
The last time you tried to scale back your salon bill, you ended up with a mullet. You can trust the stylists at Plume (111 East Girard Avenue; 215-327-3730), and they wield their scissors for $40.
That should keep things from getting ugly.
