Your coffee order is harder to fathom than Hollywood’s latest baby name.
Here to reel you in: Ascension Coffee, now open in the Design District.
Coo over the simple selection of tea and joe — all java beans are single origin (translation: no blends) from indie global farms and co-ops. Velvety brews are topped with decorative foam (the barista planted an artsy fern in ours) and small biscotti.
Though there’s no need for bells and whistles, syrups made from natural cane sugar are available for whiners. Pull up a candy apple red bentwood stool to one of the metal tables and indulge in the wide range of bites (blueberry scones, pressed prosciutto and fig panino, an addicting warm goat cheese and toasted walnut salad).
Eleven off-the-beaten-path varietals make up the wine menu, which is currently growing.
Like Blue Ivy.
