When it comes to old-school, analog playtime, nothing beats a classic coloring book. Except a new, super highbrow coloring book.
Everyday Life, the artsy brainchild of cooler-than-thou French fashion label A.P.C. and equally cultivated Apartamento magazine, eschews the usual cartoon fodder for visually compelling drawings.
Apartamento, which edited the project, asked artists and designers — starting with Reg Mombassa, Matt Leines, and Geoff McFetridge — to reimagine the classic coloring book. The result: a fantastical series that encourages kids to think outside the box while shading inside the lines.
Each run is limited edition, with just 500 copies printed. And at $9, the twenty-page book costs about the same as its plebeian brethren, but with way more playground cachet.
Available at usonline.apc.fr, $9.
