Read Between the Lines Launches

Greeting cards that get to the point

read between the lines!

What has a blond bob, sticker collection, and three-legged Welsh corgi?

This girl: Melinda Jones.

She also has Read Between the Lines, a cheeky new collection of greeting cards launching this week.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, the “Let me woo you” and “You are my bucket list” styles are due. Don’t worry, brokenhearted wordsmiths, there’s the “Give me my stuff back” zinger for you.

The simple layout sets the cards apart from the pack. Messages appear in clean gray type; ample white space allows senders to write their own notes (or poems for overachievers).

All cards are made from thick recycled cotton paper and come with an embossed envelope and resolute “That is all” sticker seal. A portion of proceeds benefits MANA Nutrition (a nonprofit fighting malnutrition in Africa) and Rolling Dog Farm (a rescue group and loving home for disabled animals).

And that’s no laughingstock.

Available at Neighborhood, 411 North Bishop Avenue, Oak Cliff (214-943-5650); at readbetweenthelines.com, $7 each. Launch party, Thursday, 7-9:30 p.m., at Neighborhood.
