Reliant Lights Your Holidays
What: The AT&T Performing Arts Center gets the Griswold treatment with 250,000 LED lights, plus carols with the cast of the Dallas Theater Center’s A Christmas Carol, Jack Ingram in concert, and a fireworks finale.
Why: Despite the terrible, sponsor-driven name, the new Arts District event sounds almost as good as kissing under the mistletoe.

Fair Park Holiday
What: Big Tex may be hibernating for the winter, but his stomping grounds are bustling with shopping, a pet expo, pictures with Santa, and a tree lighting where the big guy usually stands.
Why: ’Tis the season for strolling through the Chinese Lantern Festival.
When: Fri., 5-10:30 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m., Sun., noon-10:30 p.m.

Christmas in the Stockyards
What: Holler “Ho! Ho! Yippee ki-yay!” at this truly Texas celebration, complete with Cowboy Santa, cattle drive, and petting zoo.
Why: Replacing reindeer with longhorn cows could become your new favorite tradition.

WEAR
Holiday Flats Fete
What: Treat your feet (or someone else’s) to Yosi Samra classic fold-up flats ($66-$88) while treating the rest of you to light bites, music, and raffle prizes at a designer meet and greet.
