A Hit Below the Belt

So we knew this girl. She used to hate belts.

“Really,” she’d say in all her uppity logic. “Why? To hold up my pants? That’s what zippers and buttons are for.”

This same girl also reserved a special dark corner of hell for suspenders.

Then one happy, chilly day, she stumbled upon a Laurie Weber belt. It had colorful organic shapes on one side, brown corduroy on the other, and a nice little O-ring buckle in the middle. The girl looked down at her perfect Salt jeans and more perfect Perse tee and suddenly felt something was missing.

Well, you know what they say: There’s no greater convert than a former sinner.

She’s now contemplating getting the whole collection of bright silk and cotton belts. It’s not that she needs a belt to hold anything up.

She simply can’t get enough.
