Word on the street is that the way to an event planner’s heart of steel is through her stomach.

Which normally would have you sharpening your Ginsu knives. Except for one snafu.

Ever since you started spending all your free time hunting down the hottest invites in town, the grill — and your skills — have grown a little dusty.

Good thing the Dallas City Market in University Park just opened. They make exceptional food to go (so you don’t have to).

Salmon cakes will charm the envelope out of the P.R. bigwigs. (The Nantucket tartar sauce will have their fingers slippery in no time.) Ribs will impress Mr. Hard-to-Please Exhibitor. (Go for the sour orange sticky smoked variety.) The stuffed sweet potato with ginger molasses pecan butter is a no-fail secret weapon of enticement that could melt even the most wicked mother-in-law.

In addition to apps, entrees, and sides, you’ll find desserts, wine, and a full-service Starbucks at the minimalist deli — everything you need to be armed and fabulous, no matter whom you encounter.

Ensuring that your presence won’t just be requested, it will be required.
