You don’t know where she got the idea that you could sew.
But your little sister begged you for months to embroider a pair of cherubs on her backpack, so you obliged. It’s not your fault they look like a couple of radioactive carrots.
Now it’s up to you to make nice. And you can, with the help of knitting genius Deborah Gross. She’s been sewing for years but only recently teamed up with the sisters at Krimson & Klover to create a line of her embroidered designs — like colorful doves and sweet flowers — on canvas bags.
Pick a tote from the store’s exclusive stash or ask Kristin Yanicelli or Kathryn Anderson to send Gross one you bring in. She’ll happily take custom orders and will sew your design on a variety of fabrics in two to six weeks. Even a few angels on a pair of jeans for a certain young lady with a cherub fetish.
Her touch won’t have the sentimental value that yours does.
But then again, sometimes it’s not just the thought that counts.
Available at Krimson & Klover, 3111 Cole Avenue, Uptown (214-871-2334).
