As Hello Kitty and every Pomeranian puppy on the planet have amply demonstrated, cuteness never goes out of style.
It seems, however, to be having a particularly strong moment now.
So, in keeping with the times, we present Alena Hennessy, a North Carolina-based artist whose artwork and clothing is adorned with deer, bunnies, unicorns, birdies, flowers, and trees that are fresh, pretty, and — it can’t be denied — cute.
Much of her dreamy work — white outlines on pastel backgrounds — includes acrylic- and epoxy resin-on-wood paintings in the $120-$320 range, as well as prints and a line of “fauna” (hand-poured hydrostone wall reliefs) for considerably less. So for a relatively small investment, you can get in on the current climate of cute.
Which, frankly, seems in no danger of blowing over.
