Paper Cuts

Blend Creations’s Washi Pendants

Some things never seem to change. Paper always covers rock. Rock can only crush scissors. Scissors must cut paper.

But there’s at least one place in this world where parchment always prevails: Blend Creations’s washi pendants. These stainless steel creations are outfitted with tiny pieces of silk-screened Japanese paper (otherwise known as washi) embedded directly into the metal.

The floral prints — like delicate cherry blossoms on a pale background, intricate white flower-forming dots against a plum setting, or gray and white blossoms in front of a deep azure blue — are all individually cut. Which means no two are exactly alike.

And, for added security, each sheet of washi is well protected under an equally small piece of acrylic. So no harm will never come its way.

No matter how intense your next round of Rochambeau gets.
