Good Vibrations

Sound Energy Therapy

Fist pounding, vile profanity, voodoo curses.

All perfectly reasonable methods for dealing with your stress.

As for whether they work? That’s another matter. So maybe it’s time to try Sound Energy Therapy. The ancient Tibetan technique uses tuning forks — and the sound vibrations they generate — to clear the energy pathways, reinvigorating both mind and body.

First, you recline on a vibrating table. Next, a certified practitioner places the steel instruments around your body — each giving off one of seven whole notes that correspond to your energy points (otherwise known as chakras).

As feathers are waved above you to help with circulation, chants are recited to help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. (Okay, fine. Voodoo’s starting to look good again.)

After 55 minutes, your body’s energy centers will hopefully be aligned to their optimum vibrations. Which, you know, creates the balance and inner peace necessary to calm your overly active anxiety.

Sure, it may all seem a little far fetched.

But given your track record, it’s worth a gamble.
