Gender Ender

Neiko Designs Bags

Not all fashion was created equal.

Take, for example, the tunic. Lovely on women. On men? Not so much.

Fortunately, the talented folks at Neiko Designs have made significant headway on the unisex fashion dilemma. The manufacturer of handmade leather bags and briefcases has goods that suit both sexes.

Large enough to fit a laptop, the Sapa features dark brown leather, adjustable handles, and a handy outside pocket. A twist on the ordinary, the briefcase-styled Fumi uses wooden dowels for handles. Perfect for travel, the Teki is a thin, one-strapped invention with snap closures.

Crafted from quality leather and with sturdy hardware, the designs exhibit sharp, strong lines and a clean aesthetic that would be as at home under a man’s arm as a woman’s.

Just don’t call it a purse.
