An American Sale

Don’t pretend you’re in touch with your roots.

Because that half-inch of black peeking out from underneath your otherwise blond tresses proves where your loyalties don’t lie.

Get a history lesson from great shoppers of the past (Cleopatra, Marie Antoinette, Posh Spice) at today’s Revolving Door Sample Sale, showcasing four designers with local ties: Dallas transplants Abi Ferrin and Elizabeth Wimpress; Stanley Korshak’s Elaine Raffel; and Patricia Merritt, whose daughter is the publisher of Modern Luxury Dallas.

Ferrin is offering tops (like the ruched-sleeve tunic in impossible-to-find pink or purple), silk belts, and even fall samples. You’ll also find dyed-to-order camisoles, dresses, and jackets from Raffel’s lingerie-inspired Slip Tease. Or shop Wimpress’s Two Blonde Lizzards collection for semiprecious jewelry. (Our favorite? A 40-inch turquoise lariat with tassels.) Merritt’s layered designs are equally impressive.

Everything is deeply discounted or available at wholesale. Which means you can lose touch with those relics in your closet.

And make them history.

Sale takes place July 24, 4:30-7:30 p.m., at The Allen House, 2603 Fairmont Street, Downtown.
