Damn. Another summer totally wasted.
Although you didn’t backpack across Europe, you did manage to throw a few things (passport, underwear, favorite Brad Pitt movies) in a bag. You know, just in case.
If only you’d put your time to good use like former Mansion on Turtle Creek chef Dean Fearing, who spent the past three months finishing work on his much anticipated Fearing’s.
Opening today (along with the Ritz-Carlton), the new restaurant, nestled inside the tony hotel, serves such beyond-Southwestern creations as barbecue shrimp tacos, apple-smoked bacon-jalapeno chicken, and scallops with tangerine essence.
And the interior’s just as attractive as the menu. To wit: the five dining rooms (the luxe Gallery, sparkling Sendero, magical Dean’s Kitchen, cozy outdoor Ocaso, and party-friendly Wine Cellar).
And who knows? Fearing may be just the inspiration you need to check campaigning for Ocean’s Fourteen off your autumn to-do list.
Which is sure to make you a legend of the fall.
Fearing’s, 2121 McKinney Avenue, in the Ritz-Carlton (214-922-4848 or fearingsrestaurant.com).
