They say a picture speaks a thousand words.
But it’s your artistic eye (or lack thereof) that tells volumes.
Not that we don’t enjoy a shot (or ten) of your thumb, but perhaps it’s time you seek out a little direction from the new Reflection of a Man: the Photographs of Stanley Marcus.
The retail king/local legend snapped shots of friends and family in locations near and far, and left more than 5,000 images for his photojournalist granddaughter, Allison Smith.
Flip through almost 200 pages for a glimpse at the good life — perfect days by the water, buying trips in Mexico and Europe. Admire the outfits of decades past and read insightful essays from friends like Oscar de la Renta.
Of course, the shots of your errant fingers may never become a coffee table book.
But let’s not think about the negatives.
