Who says that being full of hot air is a bad thing?
Not Mark Maguire.
The restaurateur best known for Maguire’s Regional Cuisine has just opened salon de souffle Rise nº1. The Inwood Village bistro specializes in lighter-than-air egg-based dishes in sweet and savory varieties made with ingredients like lobster Thermidor, wild mushrooms, brie, and Grand Marnier.
But man cannot live on souffle alone, and the menu also includes French onion soup, niçoise salad, and flights of wine and champagne. Interior Gallic touches include antique French linens and silverware, a sidewalk patio, and doggie water fountain.
It may not be as Euro chic as a meal in St. Germain. But with the dollar where it is, you’re better off on this side of the Atlantic.
