Yeah, yeah, the last thing we need is another fusion restaurant blending traditional American with exotic flavors from really cool parts of the world.

But La Condesa, officially opening today, bucks its many banal counterparts.

If Victory Park is the Dallas equivalent of Manhattan and Condesa the Soho of Mexico City, then this lovechild may be the coolest spot on the continent.

The menu successfully blends Texas comfort and Mexican cantina. Try the hamburguesa diable torta for a great take on the burger or the chipotle barbecue ribs for a much-needed reminder that chipotle hasn’t been done to death.

Not hungry? Stop in and grab a barstool, take in the lucha libre-meets-roadhouse decor, and order from one of the 50 brands of premium blue agave tequila.
