Modern Love
The Stoneleigh Hotel Reopens

People get attached to history (like that long, drawn-out one with your high-school boyfriend). But sometimes moving forward can be good.
Like at the magically renovated Stoneleigh Hotel, where you can still glimpse the past while enjoying all the comforts of a modern hotel. Although it doesn’t officially open until March 3, the website’s up so you can book rooms and check it out.
The team has successfully maintained the eccentric, period-style architecture, while infusing it with art deco flair and Old Hollywood glamour — very apropos, given that among the 170 guest rooms are celebrity suites honoring past guests (Elvis Presley, Judy Garland, Andy Warhol — perhaps you’ve heard of them?).
Not looking to stay the night? Check out the Italian eatery Bolla, helmed by Iron Chef challenger David Bull, or book yourself into the breathtaking full-service spa. But be warned: You may just want to move in.
Luckily, that’s an option.
The Stoneleigh Hotel, 2927 Maple Avenue (214-871-7111 or stoneleighhotel.com).
