Clear up that conscience and check out local jewelry artist Mary McNeill. After almost a decade in the pharmaceutical world, McNeill quit and created MaryGold Designs, an up-and-coming line of semiprecious and precious stone baubles.

Although she designs a few custom-made sterling silver styles, her real forte is the gold numbers dripping with eye-popping stones in untraditional color combos. From dangly earrings to long chain necklaces, the pieces are perfect for accessorizing a cocktail shift or dressing up a jeans and tee getup.

Best of all, McNeill’s designs are as affordable as they are swanky.

Which, of course, leaves a little wiggle room for that inevitable Ben & Jerry’s binge.
