Today the business is a full-time operation. The husband/wife shutterbug team shoots local cats and dogs from shelters like the SPCA in humorously staged situations.

Beneath their gorgeous portraits are simple yet witty sayings, and on the back is a detailed profile of the animal stating its name, rescue details, and special powers, which can be anything from “Rottweiler wannabe” and “part-time desperado” to “the ability to will food off your plate.”

A portion of proceeds from each sale directly supports animal welfare groups.

Talk about a worthwhile wager.
