Facebook stalking. Pizza Hut gorges. Regrettable rendezvous. That about sums up your freshman year.
Not so for SMU’s Erin Bleakley and Laura Lee.
When a potluck drawing paired them up last year, they quickly discovered a shared passion for fashion. After countless nights of sketching, the now sophomore students have turned their work into a real-life label.
This month, Blakelee (which blends their last names) makes its retail debut. The collection focuses on sassy party styles, especially short dresses with dramatic flair like big bow collars and cascades of ruffles.
Although everything is one-size-fits-all, the affordable looks are made with a lot of elastic to flatter nearly every body type.
Even those of us still carrying our freshman fifteen.
Available at Movida Boutique, 5321 East Mockingbird Lane, suite 130, Mockingbird Station (214-821-8669); Jolie, 2316 Victory Park Lane (214-855-5566 or joliedallas.com). To see styles, go to blakeleeclothing.synthasite.com.
