Bubble Yum

Project 7 Chewing Gum

Your rule of thumb: always spit, never swallow.

Same goes for Project 7, a new local line of chewing gum.

Based in Southlake, the socially conscious company makes its chew with no artificial flavors or preservatives but plenty of vitamin B12, B6, and C, as well as green tea. The twelve-piece pack’s wrapping is healthy, too, made with 40 percent recyclable material and soy inks and produced on U.S. soil to cut exporting waste and support domestic production.

Even more of a turn-on is the fact that Project 7 donates half of its profits to organizations designated to each flavor: Fresh mint supports earth-friendly initiatives, peppermint vanilla backs hunger-busting groups, and mango mint helps house the homeless.

Why the name? The label’s first product — a line of purified water — supports seven causes.

In other words, it definitely doesn’t blow.

Available online at
project7.com. The gum will also be available nationally at Whole Foods starting January.
