You tip your dog walker more than your bikini waxer (so wrong).
Just when you thought there wasn’t another way to pamper your baby, we found five.
Doggy Style
SMU grad Kameron Westcott’s clothing line, BabyLou, will make Fido the cat’s meow. The local designer’s threads (embroidered tops, ruffly dresses, fancy sequin numbers) are available at Lucky Dog Barkery.
Going to the Dogs
Won’t be an insult with Mattie’s Treats, The Corner Market cafe and flower shop’s (3426 Greenville Avenue; 214-826-8282) new healthy dog biscuit line. Made in-house with organic whole-wheat flour and real meat drippings, they spoil not-so-fortunate four-legged friends, too: All proceeds support local animal shelters.
Hot Diggity Dog
Local shutterbug Nathalie with an H will make Bowser a star (she worked thirteen years at an animal hospital before opening a photography operation). Candid shots are her specialty, especially black and white.
A Dog’s Life
Can be lonely, too. Dee’s Doggie Den is hosting a meet and greet for dogs and their owners this Wednesday, 7:30-9 p.m. Enjoy treats from Franki’s Li’l Europe, refreshments, a raffle, and prizes. Ten bucks get you in the door and support Animal Alert, a project that rescues and fosters needy animals.
Dog Tags
A little bling never hurt Benji. Charm your little guy with local jewelry designer Howard Donsky’s Silver Bones sterling silver tags (City Pet Supply, 2720 Oak Lawn Avenue; 214-252-9973). The personalized designs are hand-stamped with your pet’s name on the front.
Now go fetch.
