Growing up, you were known as Butterball. But thanks to latent genes (and a little thing known as portion control), you’re now a bona fide Babycakes.

Next time your sweet tooth comes a mockin’, roll with it at The Cake Ball Company.

After two-plus years as an online shop working out of a church kitchen, the outfit behind the locally made, cake-filled chocolates finally has its own retail space in Lake Highlands.

The delicacies come in mouthwatering flavors such as brownie, German chocolate, red velvet, and Irish cream. Most varieties are for sale each day in a small case in the simple but elegant locale. Of course, special orders (birthdays, weddings) are always welcome, too — just expect a little wait.

And be patient: The owners are still a little crazy with the big move.
