The North Henderson Avenue java hut serves tea and coffee standards (the Pearl latte is a-maz-ing) and small bites like cheese, olives, and panini.

The locale is all about the locals — and we’re not just talking about the hipsters bellying up to the long metal and wood bar. The beans are roasted by a Dallasite; the pastries and sweets (mmm, polenta cookies) are made nearby. The artwork is done by neighborhood painters, and up-and-coming musicians play live Friday nights.

Soybean insulation and a wind-powered heating and air system add a shot of green to the surroundings.
