Yeah, yeah, we know all about your famous oatmeal cookies. Your momma loves them; your cubicle mates howl for them.

Step away from the oven and watch some real culinary whizzes tomorrow at Battle of the Bakers.

The cook-off features local pros from Screen Door, Empire Baking Company, and CucaLu, among others. It’s like a Food Network show, only the audience gets to test the treats (like cake-filled truffles) and drink wine and champagne. A panel of local tastemakers (Mr. Dallas, Dunia Borga of La Duni) do the judging; winner takes home the People’s Choice award.

The flour flies all in good fun: Tickets support the Dallas Furniture Bank, a nonprofit that donates household items to people in need and transitioning out of homelessness. And DailyCandy subscribers get 25 percent off.
