Southside Hoop Group Hula Hoop Workout

You always feared the freshman fifteen. But utter terror hit upon discovering the office 30 during the cubicle mate meet and greet.

Say no to worker’s lump with Southside Hoop Group. Local artist Jen Rose leads the new four-week hula hoop workout series, which starts May 27. (There are only ten spots, so hop to it, bunny.)

The class uses oversize, weighted hoops handmade by Rose that are easy to control (they’re sold on-site) and adaptable to any fitness level. Sessions focus on basic moves that target problem areas (arms, back, and buns) with a special emphasis on toning the core.

Rose swears that the high-energy workout (you burn 100 calories for every ten minutes hooping) calms the mind and increases coordination, balance, and flexibility. Not to mention your chances of finally rockin’ a six-pack.

Work never looked so attractive.
