Stocked Market

Instead of hitting the mall, financial experts suggest you shop your closet. But not even Tim Gunn could make your faded concert tees and cutoffs work.

The Ultimate Exchange is calling in the big guns (read: local style setters with heaps of designer clothes, shoes, and handbags to unload). We can’t name-drop, but let’s just say a major ex-Cowboy’s wife and a Fox anchorwoman ponied up their posh pieces.

The treasures — Pucci wedges, Prada mules, Tory Burch and Louis Vuitton totes — are for sale today and tomorrow at a fraction of their retail value (a DVF wrap dress for $75). Buyer beware: The dressing area is communal, so don’t go commando.

Far less nerving is the fact that part of proceeds benefit Dallas-based charities the Elisa Project, Dress for Success, and the Fashionistas.

Finally, a safe fashion bet.

The Ultimate Exchange, Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., at Texas Star Event Facility, 11621 Reeder Road, suite 200. Tickets $10 at the door. For more information, go to theultimateexchange.com.
