Your idea of recovering is a dark room, lingering headache, glass of water, and bottle of dolls by the bed.
Not so for Kathy Holoman.
This week, the local furniture hunter (she has a space at Lula B’s) softly opens a teeny, tiny, by-appointment-only reupholstery shop behind the famed vintage mall. After realizing that buyers needed a source for fixing up their funky retro finds (hello, gold velvet seat cushions!), she decided to take the job into her own hands — literally.
The one-gal operation offers upholstery services, original and custom textile art (tapestries, wall hangings), and oddball design work from slipcovers to illustrative designs. More evidence she’s got talent: Holoman painted the low-key storefront with a totally bitchin’ abstract beach scene.
It’ll send your head spinning.
